Serena Chase

Serena earned her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Central Michigan University, where she also completed a dual Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Communication Sciences and Disorders.

During her graduate training, Serena gained experience working with children and adults in outpatient clinics, therapy centers, and support groups. She supported pediatric clients with speech sound disorders, AAC needs, expressive/receptive language disorders, and feeding challenges. She also worked with adults with aphasia and cognitive-communication disorders, using client-centered approaches such as the Life Participation Approach. In addition to her clinical work, Serena contributed to research on writing development in children with complex communication needs and storytelling interventions for individuals with aphasia. She also has experience as a preschool teacher and literacy tutor.

Serena values a collaborative, family-centered approach and has worked alongside occupational therapists, physical therapists, and behavior analysts to support clients’ growth across settings.
