Nicole Lang

Nicole is a Certified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with a master’s degree in Clinical Speech Language Pathology from Northern Arizona University (’11) and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Northern Iowa. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Nicole has a huge passion for traveling and speech therapy, which has taken her to many areas worldwide. She began her career working in the state of Washington with the adult and geriatric population within skilled nursing and post acute rehabilitation with an emphasis in end-of-life care, swallowing disabilities and cognitive-communication impairments. 

She made the switch to pediatrics when a school based SLP position opened up on St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands (caribbean) working with students aged 3-21 (head start through high school). She gained experience working with students ranging from mild to severe cognitive disabilities and students with multiple disabilities. After two years, Nicole moved to live and work in Thailand as an English as a Second Language teacherand volleyball coach for 18 months before returning to Phoenix, Arizona to work as a SLP within the public schools. 

While working in the public schools, Nicole has grown her passion for Alternative and Augmentative Communication with experience and training  with Touchchat w/ wordpower, LAMP, and Proloquo2go. She has experience working with students who have moderate to severe cognitive disabilities, Autistic children, and a wide range of speech sound disorders, phonological disorders, and language disabilities. 

She is a huge advocate of play based, child-led, neuroaffirming therapy. She loves a good themed based activity and has an obsession with mini objects and clipart.
