Myrna Kennedy
M.Sc., BCBA
Behavior Analyst
Myrna is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over ten years of experience supporting individuals and families within the Autism and Queer communities. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to creating compassionate, individualized, and affirming supports that recognize each person’s unique experiences, strengths, preferences, and goals. Her clinical approach is grounded in Assent-Based Practice and Trauma-Informed Care, with a strong emphasis on building trust, honoring autonomy, and ensuring that the individuals she supports have an active voice in their own care.
A central focus of Myrna’s work is the integration of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles into ABA practice. She believes meaningful progress comes from helping individuals identify and pursue what truly matters to them, rather than focusing solely on reducing challenging behaviors. Through this approach, Myrna supports clients in developing their personal values, exploring hobbies and interests, strengthening friendships and relationships, and building practical coping skills that enhance quality of life and independence.
Myrna is passionate about advancing ethical, respectful, and person-centered approaches within the field of behavior analysis. She strives to help create environments where autistic and queer individuals feel understood, accepted, and empowered to be their authentic selves. Through collaboration with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, she works to ensure that intervention is not only effective, but also meaningful, respectful, and aligned with each individual’s lived experience.
