Lila Salas

Lila has been practicing in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis since 2007, after graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in Child & Family Psychology from Biola University in Southern California. She then moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to obtain her Master of Science in Applied Behavioral Analysis from Simmons University. During her time as a graduate student, Lila worked at a verbal behavior clinic, supported students with IEPs in after-school programs and summer camps for the city of Cambridge, interned at the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, and led social-skills groups for elementary-aged children on the weekends.

After graduating in 2010, Lila returned to California to provide in-home and community-based services for Spanish-speaking families who immigrated from Latin America. In 2013, she returned to Massachusetts to work as a behavior specialist for a public school district in the greater Boston area. During her time working in public schools, Lila trained teachers, administrators, and specialists on the implementation of individualized and class-wide positive behavior support plans, provided district-wide training on the implementation of ABA principles and methodologies, and collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care of services.

Lila also consulted to the citywide early-intervention preschool program, which included integrated and substantially separate classrooms for children with a wide range of disabilities. Several years later, she was hired as the assistant director of an ABA clinic in Wellesley, Massachusetts, where she oversaw the daily operations and services for children on the Autism Spectrum. Lila’s interests include verbal behavior, Natural Environment Teaching, and culturally responsive ABA.
